Police have removed and seized dangerous potential weapons from local individuals within the South Ribble area. Many of the suspects were that of children.
The weapons found included scissors, knives, screwdrivers, lighters and more sharp objects that can cause serious damage. Stop searches in certain hotspot areas by South Ribble Police have been deemed successful after recovering the potential weapons from locals.
A spokesperson for South Ribble Police said: “The South Ribble Neighbourhood Team have been patrolling hotspot locations and conducting Stop Searches.
“As a result, numerous tools and potential weapons have been removed from the streets. These particular items were found on children, positive action has been taken.”
